The manufacture of hydraulic slabs is a creative process that requires attention, precision and patience. Because each tile is made manually, the craftsman performs 15 to 25 operations during the manufacture of a tile, depending on the complexity of the printed image

Versatility, durability and personality
We were able to acquire, reverse, engineer, and preserve the ancient technique, with the history and technology, the original artisan craft of Encaustic Tile making.
The tools we use in the production are original, or hight quality reverse-engineered reproductions, of those used in their time for the manufacture of these amazing pieces.
We use special iron molds to create the original image on the surface of the tile.
Each gap is then filled with a pigment paste. After that, the matrix is carefully removed from the mold and a layer of cement mixture is placed on the previously flooded color layer, which will become the base of the tile.
Then the mold is covered with a lid and placed under the hydraulic press, where the two layers are molded to each other. After that, the cement tile is carefully removed from the mold.
